May and June have flown by in such a whirlwind that it's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that it's already MID JUNE. What?? Maybe it didn't help that the Ohio weather was wacky this spring, with snow well into April and chilly temps until like... last week?
But it's Pride Month now, babes, and we're well into it. I hope everyone has been doing lots of drag, throwing lots of bricks, and rocking lots of leather. I get to spend my month focused on creating multiple queer stories to deadline for the first time ever (!) This month will bring developmental edits on the sequel to The Gentleman's Book of Vices, continued work on the third book in Lucky Lovers series, and a very exciting little holiday short. Including gearing up for the release of Vices in November, that's FOUR projects in different stages of completion. It is a joy, though admittedly, it's the kind of joy that makes me look at the calendar and be like.... where did the days go?
As a homebody who melts like ice cream in the crush of heat and crowds (still sweet, perhaps, but decidedly pathetic and liquified), I'm delighted to have such tangible, gay af work to do from home this year. Between that and a planned camping trip in a delightful, affirming commune, I predict less Pride-related FOMO than usual, even if I will be mostly sporting rainbow socks from the keyboard this time, rather than something more interesting at the leather bar (oh AWOL, how I miss thee...)
